The top ten Republican thinkers

http://www.economist.com/blogs/lexington/2010/12/republican_opinion-formers

Dec 6th 2010, 17:34 by Lexington

MODERATE voices in the Republican Party aren't reaching the grassroots, or so it seems from the results of a poll by ConservativeHome.com, seeking to discover which pundits will most influence party activists as presidential candidates for 2012 emerge. The poll gives Rush Limbaugh the number one spot and Glenn Beck the second. Here's the full list:

•Rush Limbaugh: 41%
•Glenn Beck: 33%
•Charles Krauthammer: 29%
•Bill O'Reilly: 24%
•Sean Hannity: 21%
•Newt Gingrich: 16%
•Michelle Malkin: 16%
•Mike Huckabee: 13%
•Ann Coulter: 13%
•George Will: 13%

5. Sir or Madame, I question Whether Any of those Could be Called Thinkers?

Rush Limbaugh is a sack of hot gas. Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are certifiable nutcases. Newt Gingrich is a partisan hack. Crazy Chucky Cabbagebasher and Ann (Look at Me! Look at Me!) Coulter are newspaper grousers and will write anything that will draw attention. George Will is the same. Michelle Malkin is an appartachik who will work for anyone who pays her.

6. You must make up your mind. Which do you want? Thinkers or Republicans?

You can't have both, as has been so glaringly illustrated
in the US House of Representatives of late.

these are all media personalities and not office holders. Rightfully that list should include Boehner, Cantor, perhaps an ex-president or two.
