Proper Breeding and the Corrupted Arsenal of Democracy View

The vision of what is needed to “save” our country is often discussed by angry old white guys. They offer certainty and direction on what is needed to return us to the authority that they desire of days gone by. We need only heed their advice and follow their outline, particularly when it comes to skin color and blood lines.

At a recent anti-immigration rally Tea Party Community co-founder Ken Crow did just that. Crow strode up to the podium and delivered a speech that sounded like a segregationist preaching the purity of the races.

While not all Republicans and Tea Partyers are racists most of those who display racist signs are found within their ranks. A collection of these signs makes the message clear that race matters.

Efforts to suppress votes among minorities harbors the same overtures of the importance of proper breeding and race. The head of the Pennsylvania GOP said that the controversy surrounding the state’s voter identification law prevented President Obama from claiming a larger margin of voters in the 2012 election. These comments were made as he was asked if the attention generated by the law, which wasn’t in effect in November, actually had an effect on the election. He said:

“Yes, I think a little bit. We probably had a better election. Think about this, we cut Obama by five percent, which was big. A lot of people lost sight of that. He won-he beat McCain by ten percent, he only beat Romney by five percent. I think voter ID helped a bit in that.”

So, the solution to a restoration of our great nation is found in maintaining the blood line. Where have we heard this before? Sounds like a recruiting poster for the Eugenics movement from the 1920s. On my bookshelf is a text entitled “Sterilization for Human Betterment” which could double for a Extreme Right manuscript used in a rally this weekend. No room for those who fall outside the standard. No acceptance of those whose only desire is for freedom. You have to pass a test, can’t be of dark skin, no accents allowed.

A pure blood, light skin, God-fearing (Christian god only please), society is what other bloggers mean when they describe their corrupted vision of what Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt called the Arsenal of Democracy.

And their answer is always the same: we own everything, your job is to obey, and that's all it is, a job, you have no rights you can rely on if I say no, you can be fired, you a be killed, if you get out of line.
