The Four Day Work Week
The money section of CNN.com has a story discussing the past predictions of a coming four day work week and how those predictions turned out to be wrong, at least for United States workers. The story was surprising and interesting. I did not know it had been predicted that workers would be working 15 hours a week.

(34,582 posts)remember the talk about the paperless office? Hell, now it is so easy to generate documents that we probably have more paperwork than ever.

(11,862 posts)large ledger paper for our month end reports and for our 5 year long range forecasts..it would take a week, and trust me..there were not many copies for everyone....only the upper, upper echelon got copies, now, with excel, we could punch it out in a day or two and print copies for everyone in the office...on cheap copy paper..yes, paperless indeed!
Also, when only women (or mostly) used typewriters for everything, no one heard of carpel tunnel, or repeat motion syndrome, but when men began using computers regularly..it became an epidemic...
