Oklahoma senator's bill targets controversial U.N. Agenda 21 plan

http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=336&articleid=20121224_16_A1_CUTLIN218146
Agenda 21?
Agenda 21 is the U.N. environmental agenda for the 21st Century.

It was originally drafted by the United Nations and national governments at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992.
Agenda 21 is not a treaty or legally binding document and it has never been considered by Congress.
Tea party Republicans and others suspect that Agenda 21 is a means of dissolving national sovereignty and the rights of private landowners.

A nonbinding state Senate Resolution, written by Sen. Josh Brecheen, R-Coalgate, said the U.N. Agenda 21 is "a comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering, and global political control"

The agenda is hidden in less controversial catch phrases such as "smart growth," "wild lands project," "resilient cities," "regional visioning projects," and other "green" projects, the resolution says.

who have tried to adopt some of these measure have been met with tea bagger scorn. No fun for local officials who get paid a pittance.

where anything you don't like, especially if it has been supported by "liberals", is a conspiracy. This is America damnit, and you can't make us be smart if we don't want to be! Radical idiocy.

From Mr. Toad's Wild Ride written a couple of months ago-

The thing is, you would think that an effort that promotes living within our means, accurately forecasting financial needs and obligations and making intelligent and well thought-out land use decisions would find some favor with conservatives. That’s kind of the traditional definition of conservatism, isn’t it? I guess not. Apparently, since the concept has met with the approval of the liberals among us, it must therefore also be evil. Private industry actually has a term for this approach to conducting your affairs. They call it a business plan. But bring this type of analysis to government and it becomes a U.N. plot. Go figure. If liberals are for it then conservatives have to be against it. Simple, isn’t it? So logic and principals be damned, this is America and you can’t make us be smart if we don’t want to be.

OOOOOOk! La homa where the nuts come riding 'cross the plains. Sing it a couple of times. It's catchy.
