"I have news for Snyder; we won’t be silenced."
I just opened this e-mail and was happy to see some organization is going on in Michigan to turn this around...
"My name is Jondra Atkinson and Im a home care provider from Detroit, Michigan.
On Tuesday, I joined more than 17,000 workers; union and non-union in a mass rally together outside of the State Capitol building as anti-worker legislators answered Governor Rick Snyders call to divide Michigan by ramming through two so-called right-to-work bills which promise to kill jobs, lower wages, crush workers rights and unravel the middle class.
Snyder misled the people of Michigan by announcing he would sign the bill Wednesday, but waited until all of us gathered outside the capitol returned home before calling a closed last minute press conference and bill signing on Tuesday night.
But I have news for Snyder; we wont be silenced. Its going to take us all coming together to turn this piece of dangerous legislation around. You can sign this pledge to take action in the coming days and months against right-to-work-for-less in Michigan.
Earlier this year, Snyder said that so-called right-to-work was not a part of his agenda. But with the support of right-wing interests like ALEC and the Koch Brothers, Snyder rushed the bill through in just six days, with no input from Michigans voters.
Governor Rick Snyder has been bought-and-paid-for by Republican interest groups who seek to destroy the middle class by silencing the voices of working people. But we wont let him, especially with the support of our friends in Wisconsin. Your pledge of support will help Michigan workers like me in our continued fight to protect workers rights and middle class families in Michigan."
Thank you,
Jondra Atkinson

(1,418 posts)Need I remind people this is what happens when:
A.) they vote for a repug governor.
B.) they sat out the 2010 midterm election-- as millions of people do.
FAIL. you're not going to get rid of Snyder now, and you're not going to "recall" state congresspeople responsible for the rape of the workers. another reminder; this has already been tried in WI... and it was a FAIL.
The answer is to NOT vote these people into office in the first place-- not make "strongly worded" threats after they are elected and you finally realize they are total arseholes.

(223 posts)people need to organize and protest, like the civil rights movements...speechs, parades, peaceful protests...the people cannot let this stand.
