But thanks to Ronald Reagan, weve already been paying for each others health insurance for decades in the form of inflated health care costs, and this will make it possible for nearly all Americans who cant afford it to get coverage. And, if you choose not to have coverage - despite the fact that every American is going to need it at some point it will cost you about $5 a day, which is likely comparable when averaged out over your lifetime that youd end up paying for free riders, the uninsured who show up in the emergency room with no insurance or means of paying.
You also get Christian fundamentalists saying that Catholics have lost their religious freedom because the organizations they sponsor not churches, which are exempt have to offer insurance plans that make free birth control available to women who want it. They no longer have the freedom to deny that basic element of reproductive health care.
Thats it. Thats how theyve lost their freedom. They have to take responsibility for their own health insurance and/or allow people to get the legal medication they want*.
And they never mention the freedoms weve gained since Barack Obama became president.

getting health insurance through employers makes no sense whatsoever. every employer should be eager to get out of that business altogether so they can focus their business on their "core competencies".
with medicare-for-all, an employee's health insurance becomes absolutely none of their concern, so they need not be bothered with whether or not they're paying for birth control.

(16,402 posts)[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]One of the lines I love most in Billy Bragg's English lyrics for the Internationale is, "Freedom's merely privilege extended, unless enjoyed by one and all."
It's not "losing" their freedoms the bigots are so enraged about, because they've lost absolutely nothing except their privilege of freedoms denied to others (and thus their ability to lord it over those others).
Bigotry is nothing but a form of bullying, and there is never an excuse for bullying of any sort.
