Tom DeLay Registers to Lobby on Sex-Trafficking Issues

Former Rep. Tom DeLay has officially made the jump to lobbyist.

The Texas Republican in late July filed paperwork to lobby for Argus Global LLC on sex-trafficking issues, according to records tracked by the website Political MoneyLine.

New York City-based Argus Global is described as an investment, media and public relations firm on recent lobbying registration forms filed with the House and Senate.

Though the former House Majority Leader formed the political consulting firm First Principles after leaving Congress, Argus Global is his first "and probably only" lobbying client, DeLay said in a phone interview.

DeLay cases inch forward

Published: 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012

The Tom DeLay legal marathon inched forward Wednesday on two separate fronts.

John Colyandro, a DeLay co-defendant who has been under investigation since 2003, found out his trial won't start until next year.

Meanwhile, DeLay, who is appealing his conviction and three-year prison sentence, finally knows which three justices on the 3rd Court of Appeals will hear his appeal.

Felony charges against both men arose from the 2002 elections in which they were accused of conspiring to launder $190,000 of corporate money into legal campaign donations.

No decent human being would lobby in favor of sex trafficking, but he's not a decent human being, so who knows.

in the North Marianas Islands, so I'm guessing he's lobbying for it under the guise of supporting capitalism or some such bullshit.

... starting with "Why is this man not in jail?" and concluding with "Why would any legislator be willing to listen to (or worse: be influenced by) Tom DeLay?"
