Hitler didn't quit in 1938 and Putin won't stop at Ukraine, Lithuanian leader warns
https://www.politico.eu/article/adolf-hitler-quit-1938-vladimir-putin-ukraine-russia-war-lithuania-gitanas-nauseda/There's a historical parallel between Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda warned on Wednesday.
Just as Czechoslovakia did not satisfy Hitler, Ukraine would not satisfy Putin," Nausėda said, speaking at the Paris Defense and Strategy Forum in the French capital. "Neither would the Baltic states or Poland. None of the European states are safe at the moment.
"Russia will not stop. It can only be stopped," he added.
In 1938, Hitler annexed part of Czechoslovakia to Germany as his military ambitions grew, culminating in the outbreak of World War II. Putin, meanwhile, has waged war on Ukraine since 2014, illegally annexing the Crimean peninsula and then attempting to capture swathes of Ukrainian territory during a full-scale invasion that began in 2022.

(10,053 posts)for Ukraine, crossed the border into Russia, in tanks and took over 3 small villages on Russian soil. Don't know how much difference this will make other than it is a PR win, but certainly made me smile.

(16,426 posts)Hitler just kept taking one thing after another, and nothing was ever enough. He never would have stopped if he hadn't gotten caught in the vise of the Soviets coming from one direction and the western allies (including the USA) coming from the other to take over Germany. And when it became clear that he had lost, the effing coward killed himself. (Although, with the Red Army poised to capture Berlin, I kind of don't blame him. He knew Stalin's men were mightily pissed about what he'd done in the parts of the USSR he'd taken over and weren't going to treat him kindly. )

(22,143 posts)Maybe, just maybe this prediction will be true.
Of course, 99.9% of such predictions don't come true, and such predictions range all over the map, you wouldn't believe it (well, maybe you would). They have everything from WWIII, to atomic war, to XYZ, to invasions by entities, to Russia/China or some other entities starting a war, etc.
And multiple people making all sorts of predictions, not just one person. Good thing that there is only one Earth, otherwise, we would be dying many times over, each time one of these crazy predictions comes true. Not that I'm making fun of it, but predictions of all sorts are being passed along to a lot of people (those w/ NDEs, etc.). I almost felt like I was reading the National Enquirer again. A spooky feeling.
