Fund-Raiser at Cheney Home Signals Resolve to Elect Romney

JACKSON, Wyo. — Some view the fund-raiser as a symbolic laying on of the hands, a passing of the torch from the last Republican administration to the hope of the next one. Others view the high-dollar event in more practical terms, as a sign of how urgently Republicans believe President Obama needs to be defeated.

But one thing is clear: When Mitt Romney shows up in Jackson Hole, Wyo., on Thursday for a reception at the Teton Pines country club, followed by a more intimate dinner at the home of former Vice President Dick Cheney, the fund-raiser will represent something more than his usual tap dance for dollars.

“This is a reflection of the respect they have for Governor Romney, obviously, and a reflection of the support they have for him, and also their concern for making sure we don’t re-elect President Obama,” said Elizabeth Cheney, Mr. Cheney’s daughter, who will also be in town for the event. “This goes to not just kind of sitting back and saying I’m going to endorse Governor Romney, but saying we’re going to do whatever we can to help with this cause.”

Though friends and donors of both Bush administrations are expected to attend, the guest list does not include many members of former President George W. Bush’s inner circle. (Read: No Karl Rove, the architect of Mr. Bush’s campaign and White House; no Condoleezza Rice, the former secretary of state).

"And I listened to him speak and said whether you agree or disagree with him, this is a man of wisdom and judgment, and he could have been president of the United States...That’s the kind of person I’d like to have — a person of wisdom and judgment.” ~Mitt Romney

Like, let loose all their rabid attack dogs? Funnel endless amounts of $$$$ into the R-money campaign? Steal another election?

That's when you KNOW you've been accepted by the most effluential man in the republican party.

(Yes, I spelled it that way purposely)

for Romney; yes, the Cheney cabal want back the Whitehouse, but it may be more like a meeting to inform Romney who he'll be reporting to and who pulls the strings and who makes the decisions.
