A ‘jaundiced’ View Of What The Healthcare Decision Means

Except for the shallowest of shadenfreude at the anti-Obama set, this is bad news for any anti-big-business Progressive Populists such as myself.

If it had been struck down, we would have seen the insurance companies screwing people with such a renewed vigor over the next year or two that the majority of the American public would come to believe – as I do now – that it’s insurance itself that’s the problem. And then, over the following years, we could begin a fresh push for ACTUAL government-run healthcare.

But no, we’re stuck with a half-assed healthcare law...

Nope, I just don't think this is so.

The opposite is true; a benevolent government has to shove good things, like building codes and higher mileage cars, down our collective throat through regulations and legislation.
