President Trump blames Obama for coronavirus testing problems

By Shawn Langlois

‘The Obama administration made a decision on testing that turned out to be very detrimental to what we’re doing, and we undid that decision a few days ago so that the testing can take place at a much more accurate and rapid fashion. That was a decision we disagreed with. I don’t think we would have made it, but for some reason it was made. But we’ve undone that decision.’
That’s President Donald Trump deflecting the criticism his administration has been facing over its response to the coronavirus.

The comments were made during a meeting with airline executives at the White House on Wednesday. Here’s a clip: (available at web link above)

Still, Trump’s deflection came under fire from his critics.

There's clear evidence of how Trump has mishandled the #coronavirus response. CDC cuts. Eliminating the NSC global pandemic coordinator. Mike Pence's entire existence. Don't just repeat his bullshit attempts to blame Obama. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/03/here-are-17-ways-the-trump-administration-bungled-its-coronavirus-response/

Here are 17 ways the Trump administration bungled its coronavirus response

This list doesn't include Donald Trump Jr.'s claim that Democrats wanted the virus to spread and kill Americans.

a hoax the virus is and how safe it is to travel without restrictions. And planning Pence's tour today of a treatment facility in the Seattle area.

I was surprised that he would risk the trip. Sure, he will take precautions, but it made me wonder if the trip was his choice or if Trump sent him there, considering all the talk about Trump looking for a new running mate.

Your theory sounds crazily plausible, as does the possibility it'll be staged with healthy people smiling in adoration from clean beds in sterilized rooms as he mops their brows and checks their pulses.

I suspect, though, that he will visit a new site that is not yet operating. Or a lab. Not actually visit with sick people. That I cannot imagine him doing.

I just ran with the idea that his boss wants to do something... anything... that shows calmness and bold action simultaneously.
