The Impeachment Trial Nears a Finale (NYT- LTTE)
Re Republicans Block Impeachment Witnesses, Clearing Path for Trump Acquittal, nytimes.com, Jan. 31):
The vote is in. No witnesses. No evidence. I am ashamed to call myself an American. I dont know what to do with my rage, my pain, my utter disgust with the partisan politics that led to this disgraceful end. This is a mockery of a trial. The consequences are going to taint the rule of law and the process of checks and balances for the rest of time.
But in this country, there is something I can do. I am going to work even harder to rid this country of Donald Trump.
I will turn my rage into a commitment to change the awful direction this country has taken. That I can do. As an American, I can say what I believe. I can vote. And so can the vast majority of Americans who wanted witnesses and evidence. We can all vote. We can all speak out against this terrible corruption. And I believe we will.

Americans outside the Trump cult aren't happy at all with Senate Republicans' disloyalty to the Constitution and the rule of law; in fact, they're pissed off!
