Reading the Mueller Tea Leaves During a Confusing Week
"There were stories this week that seemed to suggest Special Counsel Robert Muellers investigation into the Trump campaign and Russian interference in the election may be winding down. But there were a handful of other reports that suggest the oppositethat the investigation is alive and well, with potentially serious implications for the president and his associates. Taken together, its difficult to conclude much more than this: We still dont know where this thing is ultimately headed, and anyone who suggests they do probably doesnt know what theyre talking about.

"In a court filing on Wednesday, Muellers office said, The Special Counsels investigation is not a closed matter, but an ongoing criminal investigation with multiple lines of non-public inquiry.
This was the strongest indication from the special counsel itself that its work is not close to done and much of it is still secret."

If these stories leave you spinning, youre not alone. In total, the best conclusion one can draw is: Be patient. We dont know yet what we dont know.

(9,481 posts)1. Trump & Fox News are liars and nothing they say is to be trusted
2. The MSM likes to speculate a lot. Anything from leaked sources should be taken with a grain of salt.
3. Protect the Investigation, and we will see what happens with the indictments and reports.

It will conclude when it is solid and has left no rock unturned. He is also very smart and knows politics well. If he is forced out his team has their fingers on the "send" button and will use it to send all of their info to various cities and states AGs to pick it up and run with it.

(58,364 posts)Mueller is a consumate professional, too wise to take Trump's political bait.
Having great experience in prosecuting organized crime, he's perfectly suited for the job at hand.
