GOP: the House is lost. Focus is on Senate. Danger for Dems: Koch data firm, i360

Another McConnell ally suggests House is likely gone & calls for rally around Senate as firewall in this @jmartNYT @alexburnsNYT story.

Already, some veteran Republicans are suggesting that the party shift its focus from the House to protecting its one-seat Senate majority.
It seems clear now that the fight is to hold the Senate, said Billy Piper, a lobbyist and former chief of staff to Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader. The first thing a Democrat House majority would do is begin impeachment proceedings. The second would be to undo tax reform. A G.O.P. Senate will stop both of those things and continue to put conservatives on the bench at a record pace.

And we shouldn't forget that the Koch data firm -- i360 -- is planning to do EXACTLY what Trump and Cambridge Analytica did in 2016 during these midterms. Instead of focusing on PA, WI, MI as in CA and Trump did in 2016, the Koches will be targeting MO, Indiana, ND, and WV using Facebook and other social media voter suppression strategies.

Koch data firm, i360, is more sophisticated than Cambridge Analytica. And it's ready for 2018.

Inside the Koch data mine
Meet the guys building the rights new machine. (2014)
The Koch brothers and their allies are pumping tens of millions of dollars into a data company thats developing detailed, state-of-the-art profiles of 250 million Americans, giving the brothers political operation all the earmarks of a national party.
The Koch network also has developed in-house expertise in polling, message-testing, fact-checking, advertising, media buying, dial groups and donor maintenance. Add mastery of election law, a corporate-minded aggressiveness and years of patient experimentation plus seemingly limitless cash and the Koch operation actually exceeds the RNCs data operation in many important respects.
The Koch operations are the most important nonparty political players in the U.S. today, and no one else is even close, said a top Republican who has been involved in the last eight presidential campaigns.
i360 links voter information with consumer data purchased from credit bureaus and other vendors. Information from social networks is blended in, along with any interaction the voter may have had with affiliated campaigns and advocacy groups. Then come estimated income, recent addresses, how often a person has voted, and even the brand of car they drive. Another i360 service slices and dices information about TV viewing to help campaigns target ads more precisely and cost efficiently.
Right now, were talking about and building things that you wont see in 2016, because its not going to be ready until 2018, Palmer said.
