Hillary Clinton Let Him Stay. Women Say His Harassment Continued.
Touching, inappropriate comments, and an untenable work environment: A woman who worked on Hillary Clintons campaign made those complaints about her boss, a faith and values adviser, in 2007. He was punished, but not fired, by Clinton. Six years later, still in her world, he landed the top job at a pro-Clinton super PAC as a well-connected operative close to the boss lady. There, former staffers say, his behavior wasnt any different.Source: BuzzFeed News
Senior aides on the campaign wanted to fire him, according to three officials with knowledge of the process, but Hillary Clinton decided against doing so.
Not only was the adviser, Burns Strider, not pushed out he thrived after her campaign, landing a senior role at a super PAC preparing for her next presidential bid. In that job, he exhibited the same kinds of inappropriate behavior toward women who worked there, particularly two young female subordinates.
In at least three separate instances between 2007 and 2015, women who worked for the Clinton campaign or the pro-Clinton PAC said that Strider, 52, harassed them at work.

I am glad this creeper has been exposed (a man of faith... ugh). I hope is is permanently shunned from any formal involvement in Democratic politics.

I understand from another article that Stridor has his own consulting firm and does some contract work for the DNC.
I suppose that people concerned could contact the entities Stridor contracts with and request that his contracts be terminated.
I get a kick out of some of the comments however-full of the old H. Clinton should have left her husband and such. Sounds like Sarandon and right wing authoritarians.
I don't think we will ever be free of people who want to run our lives and order us about-authoritarians they will always be with us.
Truth hurts sometimes....

(180 posts)Some continue to view Hillary through rose colored lens. But in reality she was a deeply flawed candidate. From ropes corraling reporters to the personal server, she made a lot of bad decisions. Keeping this person on staff was probably the worst one yet.

(24,122 posts)a BIG one, and move on! But, of course, she will continue to defend the indefensible. I just don't get it.

(6,043 posts)The Clinton campaign attorneys issued a statement saying that Stridor received no special treatment in 2008 and that the organization's policies and procedures were followed in addressing the issue.
We know from reporting to date that Stridor was punished by about 3 months docking of pay and a apparently some readers today wanted him to have been fired in 2008.
If so, the next step is for a reporter is to follow up-get the handbook with the policy and procedures, ascertain whether Clinton did something improper in the organization's implementation of personnel procedures.
I believe in due process and have been open about the fact that I believed that Al Franken should not have been pressured to resign and forego his ethics investigation.
(I was glad to see that Sen Lynch, as a member of the Judiciary committee later regretted his call for Franken to resign).
I personally am more interested in what is happening today regarding Donald Trump's attacks on feminism but I do encourage people who care about Stridor's business dealings with Democratic organizations today to address their concerns with those organizations.

(57,086 posts)the conjecture and it'll stay up.
Though how many more threads on this particular subject do we really need?
The guy messed up. He went through a process deemed adequate FOR THE TIMES, the victim went to another area away from his influence WITH NO OBJECTIONS. YEARS later at ANOTHER job repeated his actions and GOT FIRED.
Hindsight is 20/20. And standards changed and were tightened as society began to realize how endemic this behavior really was.
Why are we beating Hillary Clinton over this more than ten year old situation while the victim has stayed quiet about it? Why isn't this about the perpetrator????

(6,043 posts)If people think Stridor is a clear and present danger they can contact the companies he contracts with.
I myself am focusing on the misogynist Trump, misogynist Republicans, and misogynist media outfits-including the NY Times
However I encourage those who post about Stridor to take the next step and complain to the companies he contracts with today. The Democratic-related companies may take action if they hear from you.
