Is CNN Too Fair to Trump?

By Joe Lapointe

Carl Bernstein still carries lots of street cred in journalism, so forgive his mixed metaphors in pursuit of truth.

He spoke Sunday of the escalating attacks by amateur President Donald Trump and his right-wing media goons against the FBI, the Justice Department, and most legitimate American news outlets.

“We are in a hothouse, cold civil war,” Bernstein told Brian Stelter on CNN’s Reliable Sources.

Bernstein added that “attacking the press” is a basic element of “too many demagogues” and that “the best obtainable version of the truth is not necessarily about neutrality. It is about sorting through information and presenting what the facts and context are.”

That the so called press has subscribed to that is helping to destroy us. When some people call an apple a banana, there is no one giving context and reason why an apple is not a banana. It only matters that the press has allowed the apple and banana position.

It's been almost a year. How can we still be asking this question? CNN worked almost as hard as fox to elect him and they still treat him like he's normal. How can people know how off the rails this creature is if the media feeds his words through a media translator so he sounds half way intelligent?

1. Stop with the amnesia. Republicans should be called on their double standard every minute of the day.
2. Stop sucking up to Sarah Huckabee. Refuse to go to press briefings until the WH restores normalcy.
3. All candidates are not equal so stop trying so hard to make them equal. Fox isn't.
4. Stop letting Fox decide what gets headlined each day. The WH makes it impossible to go deep on a story by forcing the media to go from story to story so fast, we get a collective whiplash.

I wish Rachel would do Russia, someone else would do election integrity, someone else would do race relations, etc etc. I hate that all the shows repeat the same stories all day long. They don't have to research anything because they are just repeating. Often, Fox decides what we will be talking about all day. Cable hosts should pick a subject like Rachel did and cover it well. So many important stories are being ignored.
