No, Its Not You. This is Crazy.

I know what you’re thinking.

I know you feel something breaking inside lately; an invisible fracture that only you’re fully aware of.

I know the way you walk away from conversations with people you once relied on for wisdom and clarity and compassion, doubting your own sanity because you no longer recognize those things in them.

I know the way you feel internally estranged from the friends, coworkers, family members, and neighbors you used to find affinity with—and you wonder if you’re losing your mind. https://johnpavlovitz.com/2017/10/26/no-not-crazy/

over the past two days. It certainly is hitting home with many people. I sent it to my family members yesterday too.

Mrs. Aristus, a devout, if rather conservative, Christian her entire life, has been undergoing a crisis of faith for the last year. She can't even bring herself to go to church anymore. We attended a conservative Four-Square Gospel church for nearly twenty years. The liturgy was always way too far to the right for me, but she refused to attend a more liberal church.

Since she discovered that 81% of self-described evangelical Christians voted for Trump, she has given up on her once rock-solid attendance. This despite the fact that our pastor, a decent, kind, loving man and brilliant theologian, has hinted very heavily in his on-line sermon notes that he does not approve of Trump, and he admonishes those who would follow 'false leaders'.

We have stopped tithing, too; a cornerstone of Christian worship.

She is devastated.

On the plus side, she vows to vote for every Democrat on the ballot either for the rest of her life, or until the GOP returns to a more rational, moderate stance.

I once thought it would take a catastrophe to turn her into a Democrat. I was right.

The quality of my life would suffer without mine.

BTW, GWB turned my late husband into a Democrat.
