The richest get richer (David Cay Johnston)

The aftermaths of the Great Recession and the Great Depression produced sharply different changes in U.S. incomes that tell us a lot about tax and economic policy.

The 1934 economic rebound was widely shared, with strong income gains for the vast majority, the bottom 90 percent. In 2010, we saw the opposite as the vast majority lost ground.

It's a well known 'open secret' that the financial policies of the Government favor the wealthy. You have to look only to the fact that the Government is currently run BY the weathly to figure out why. A bigger question is how to pull them out and replace them with fair representatives of the public will. The rich and greedy elite in the halls of government will not inact legislatures that impede their own money harvesting.
