This is a relief to me -DU is not the norm in regard to angry dismissal of Bernie.

http://resistancereport.com/politics/harvard-poll-bernie-supporters/

From the article:

The survey, conducted by Harvard University and The Harris Poll, disproves the “Bernie Bro” trope with hard numbers. According to the survey results, which were conducted among 2,027 registered voters between April 14 and April 17, 2017, Sanders is actually more popular among women, African Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans than white people and men.

Can I make a suggestion and suggest that you edit your post to include a paragraph or a few key points taken directly from the article?

Sometimes links without included substance take folks to "bad" sites.

that don't either bash Democrats or the Democratic Party. By and large, the article re-fights the primary. It's not helpful.

So, I don't get it, either. To the extent he may have been "used" by Putin-backed trolls to hurt HRC, I don't blame Sanders for that.

And, THAT will be all I have to say on the subject.

And large cities too for that matter.

Wonder where they sampled?

Voting for Hillary over Bernie in the primaries doesn't mean he wasn't still popular with those voters.

Many of us that voted for Bernie over Hillary still supported her in the general.

Out of 2,000+ respondents, 14% identify as atheist/agnostic.

Then: "How often do you attend religion services, events, or gatherings?"

55% reported "Almost never."

You cannot use data about favorability to support a conclusion about popularity. And you certainly cannot equivocate "views favorably" with "supports".

Statistical analysis is a complex process. Neither Harvard nor Harris chose to reach conclusions about the data they present. I would suggest that a random blogger whose goal seems to be finding a new excuse to re-litigate the primary do the same.

Not many on DU have any respect or admiration for Bernie. Which is very unfortunate if we ever want to be united for a stronger voting bloc, regardless if one is an Independant or a Democrat.

Sometimes I feel like I've stepped into a fantasy world in which Bernie Sanders is some kind of demon. It's really become quite vicious.

white people. And they are all more popular with women than with men.

These groups are more liberal and more Democrat. So all Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents will be more popular with those groups than the general population.

This is not surprising. It would have been surprising if that wasn't the case.
