The GOP can no longer avoid its Rush Limbaugh problem.

IN A DEMOCRACY, standards of civil discourse are as important as they are indefinable. Yet wherever one draws the line, Rush Limbaugh’s vile rants against Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke crossed it. Mr. Limbaugh is angry at President Obama’s efforts to require the provision of contraception under employer-paid health insurance and the White House’s attempts to make some political hay out of the policy. His way of showing this anger was to smear Ms. Fluke, who approached Congress to support the plan, as a “slut” seeking a government subsidy for her promiscuity.

The latest scuttle that Rush will never get fired is probably true, however, we can make his life a lot less meaningful and definitely more trivial......

This was bound to happen. I predicted it years ago - nobody stood up to him, and the Republicans granted him unlimited power. In November, they will pay the price.

Bain Capital is one of two partners that own Clear Channel, which employes Limbaugh. While Romney was not the CEO of Bain at the time they acquired Clear Channel using a leveraged buyout he continues to have a large holding in that company, the size of which is hidden in his Cayman Island accounts (along with Romney's kids).

Has Romney spoken directly with Limbaugh since this happened?

for posting this information.

I believe that it deserves more attention than it has far received.

"Nor are we suggesting that the ostensible policy issue here — mandatory provision of contraception under health insurance paid for by religious-based institutions such as Georgetown — is a simple one. Those who questioned President Obama’s initial decisions in this area — we among them — were not waging a “war on women,” as Democrats have alleged in strident fundraising appeals."

How mealy mouth. Contraception is a preventative measure that saves millions. It's not complicated. Why does an employer get to opt out of what is promised? And the hyper rhetoric is just tit for tat with Repugs. Deal with it.

For that matter, why is one's health care attached to one's employment in the 1st place? THAT is a way Dems could frame it (after the election maybe). And perhaps the spectre of a Public Option could rise again.

Anyway, Rush is only a problem because he is helping the Dems. Keep it up, Rush!

but this won't have any effect. we're still going to need some serious pushback to get the country back from him and his 5000 or so copycats. Someone notify when it's time to fight back
