... I hope that what comes out of this is more people will understand what our rights are, says Harney County resident Chris Briels about the trial. He says the Bundys message of government overreach was right on the mark. Its not radical, not weird, not strange.
But former Bureau of Land Management employee Liz Appleman says she wants to see the occupiers serve time for the takeover ...
Burns Paiute councilman Jarvis Kennedy is frustrated that the occupiers arent being charged for disturbing a federally-protected archeological site. The refuge sits on ancient tribal land.
Its kind of upsetting
they dug holes for their outhouses, and for their trash and they made a road ...

(20,581 posts)they need to address that. They showed no respect and probably intentionally desecrated the land knowing it was a protected archeological site.

(22,037 posts)It's that simple. They are all criminals. They have violated laws.
Prosecute them and imprison these violent thugs. They aren't Americans. They don't recognize the Constitution, the Bill of Rights or any of the Constitutional Amendments. They don't recognize Federal, State or Local laws.
They need to be isolated and removed from society in order to protect our country.

(2,579 posts)This needs to stay on everyone's radar, otherwise it might get swept under the carpet. I want these thugs prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and that includes desecration of the tribe's burial ground!
