Or do we do honor to those the day is dedicated to by admiring Obama?

Or perhaps the photos honor the day itself?

Or perhaps it's the homophony between president's and presidents' that's the problem?

Hard to know. Possession and genitival constructions are really ambiguous and context sensitive.
