Democratic Party Primaries: “Progressives” as Political Contraceptives
American mass movements have been successful in mobilizing hundreds of thousands in opposition to Washingtons wars. Progressives have educated and organized millions to oppose Wall Street and the Democratic Partys more recent bailout of banks.
Without fail, every time that mass movements and the electorate opted for independent social action outside of the Democratic Party, a dissident politician has emerged from within the Party mouthing many of the criticisms and demands of the social movements.
These Democrat dissidents round up millions of votes and hundreds of delegates to the Democratic Convention and then they inevitably lose to the Party machine and meekly submit, reasserting their loyalty to the Party. The essential political consequence is that the dissidents channel mass social disaffection back into the Democratic Party thereby undermining any independent political initiative.

Enough is enough. Also, that rhetoric seems designed to either insult or enrage.

(1,309 posts)The democratic party is changing and it is our vision that will propel the revolution. We dismiss the politics of fear, and embrace our role as as good citizen of the world whether that means fighting for a livable climate for our children,or supporting democratic people serving movements around the globe rather than neocon's flavor of the month strong men in the Middle East, Africa, or Asia to feed the greed of our own oligarchy even as we fight the oligarchy here in America. There is no turning back now,. As Bernie says enough is enough. The revolution is on, now we work to neuter the beast that is the oligarchy and its corruption of our democracy. For years we have felt our democracy was tainted, but the odor accompanying its death is too noxious for us to ignore as it pollutes every facet of our existence to support the greed of the oligarchy. We need democracy. Benjamin Franklin said we gave them a democracy , it is up to the people to keep it. Well we need to wake up, see the poisons the American oligarchy has spread throughout the world and here at home, and install democracy again to bring sanity to our country and the world. History clearly shows now that capitalism unregulated by democratic governments is a threat to our air, our water, our lands, our oceans, our food supplies, our health, our fair share of the products of our labor and our standard of living, and our planet even as it encourages and supports wars around the world. and enables gun violence here at home. Why should we not fight the oligarchy, now that we have awaken with the beast eating our breakfast , lunch, and dinner? The progressives will win this time to get the America we want and desperately need.

(3,864 posts)I've been a progressive since I was old enough to be conscious of the world, and the older I get the more militant and progressive I get.
No I'm not changing, except to become more militant in a more conservative, right-wing, world.

Bolding mine.
I Changed my behavior - from blindly/meekly submitting based on trust - to help end this cycle.
No more for This once Democratic loyalist-this manipulation has influenced my choices since the mid-1990's. I went along-begrudgingly...because I had Faith and Trust in those who were in DC in the "here and now". I've changed my view, my forecast and my personal outlook and refuse to "go along". I have lost trust and faith.

You should distinguish between poster and author.
as far as being real - this is real:
"The Party is loosing membership for some time now down in the 20th percentile and must return to its core democratic principles and away from corrupt corporatism and absolute pursuit of money and greed."
Let me know when it happens.
