‘They are coming for you’: Sandy Hook truthers escalate threats by posting home address of victim’s sister

Conspiracy theorists who believe the Sandy Hook massacre of 2012 was a hoax are threatening the sister of one of the victims to the point the woman and her husband are afraid to go home on Saturday.

Truthers accusing Carlee Soto, the sister of slain teacher Vicki Soto, of being a “crisis actor” have been posting her name, birth date and address on Instagram. “Crisis actor” is a term used by conspiracy theorists who believe the massacre at the elementary school was staged by the government as pretense for taking away guns. Twenty small children and six school staffers were killed in the attack. Vicki Soto died heroically, shielding her students.

Family members of Vicki Soto have been harassed since the massacre, but told Raw Story it’s never gone to the extent of having addresses posted online.

Instagram users are sharing a post that reveals contact and family information, including names of Soto’s mother, siblings and husband, and their social media user names.

conspiracy theories no matter what the truth is...including 9/11.

Brooklyn man yelled that Newtown massacre never happened to family of slain Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher Victoria Soto

A Brooklyn man was arrested in Connecticut Saturday after he ran in a charity race for slain Sandy Hook teacher Vicki Soto and then confronted her younger sister with an offensive conspiracy theory that questions the massacre.

Matthew Mills, 32, was booked for breach of peace and released on bond pending a court appearance later this month, he confirmed to the Daily News.

Soto, 27, died trying to protect her students against crazed gunman Adam Lanza during the 2012 school shooting spree that killed 20 children and six school staffers.

Mills defended his abhorrent actions in a phone interview Tuesday, claiming he signed up for the third annual Vicki Soto 5K in Stratford, Conn., so he could “politely” ask a question of Soto’s grieving family.

The self-described 9/11 truther said he intentionally singled out Soto’s younger sister Jillian to ask whether a portrait showing Soto and her siblings sitting on seaside rocks in Stratford during happier times was altered by Photoshop.

“I went to the race to specifically talk to her, but I waited until the end, and I donated also,” he said Tuesday. “They’re making me out to be a bad guy. I just asked one question.”

Mills said he considers himself a journalist and claims he was “soft spoken” when he confronted the relative with a copy of the photo.

Cops told the Connecticut Post that Jillian Soto and another sister were rattled by the encounter and Mills’ allegedly angry demeanor. Jillian repeatedly asked Mills to leave her alone and ended up in tears, cops told the newspaper.

Mills declined to say Tuesday whether he believes the Newtown shooting was fabricated.

“I try not to speculate. There are shootings all the time with no conspiracies related to them. But this conspiracy about the photo has really caught on online. …People say the rocks don’t match up, the shadows don’t match up.”

He said he didn’t mean to offend anyone and believes his case will get thrown out.

“I just wanted to put to rest whether these four kids were really there together on those rocks that day or not. It’s not for shock value,” he said.

Last year, Mills was taken into custody after crashing the Super Bowl postgame press conference at MetLife Stadium and commandeering a microphone from Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith.

“Investigate 9/11,” Mills said in a bizarre rant as security pounced and tried to wrestle him away; “9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government.”

He was charged with trespassing and released.

Mills is associated with WeAreChange, NJ.com reported, an organization that describes itself as dedicated to asking “the tough questions the mainstream media doesn’t want to ask.”
