In light of the cop murder of that kid in Chicago,

you can read online a long report about official coverups of police abuse, as well as the way the brutal cops themselves are so protected they seldom even lose a day's pay, much less their jobs. Needless to say, the cops don't usually get charged, either.

The shooting was justified because the cop "feared for his life".
Do they teach that phrase in cop school?

Lethal force is usually not allowed unless you reasonably* fear for your life. Law enforcement usually get a few other exceptions.


* Ability, opportunity, jeopardy
