(5,016 posts)A man suffered a serious heart attack and had open heart bypass surgery. He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at a Catholic Hospital . As he was recovering, a nun asked him questions regarding how he was going to pay for his treatment. She asked, Do you have health insurance? He replied in a raspy voice, No health insurance. The nun asked, Do you have money in the bank? He replied, No money in the bank. The nun asked, Do you have a relative who could help you? He said, I only have a spinster sister, who is a nun. The nun became agitated and announced loudly, Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God.
The patient replied, Send the bill to my brother-in-law.

(18,186 posts)people rely on "celibate" men to define human sexuality.
And another thing: When I realized my church wasn't practicing what it preached, I left the church and will now condemn it as evil until the day I die. Why do people continue to funnel their hard-earned money into a church that is stuck in the Dark Ages? Whose tenets they don't even believe, much less practice?
This reminds me of Republicans who claim to believe in austerity for everyone else, but who suck from the government teat until they're gorged.
Say one thing in PUBLIC, do another IN PRIVATE. I couldn't live with myself being so dishonest.
I simply don't understand all the people who on Sunday say they believe this shit but who live like they don't believe it Monday through Saturday. I think they really mess up their kids and that they are truly wrong to support an institution that harms others with its ideas.
