I don’t condemn the belief that soldiers, even the great-grandfather of the couple in the article, fought for “love of thy state;” however, the Confederate government and the people who sent these young men to die by the thousands, did so to protect an evil ... institution ...

No one wants to admit their great-grandfather fought for a government who intended to keep and defend an institution of slavery ...

Speaking as a southerner, born and raised, I thank God that rebellious flag has been removed from the property of the American people ...
