TRUMP: A Farce to Be Reckoned With

The mild mannered Eugene Robinson sticks it to The Donald good.

"Anxiety-ridden GOP masterminds will eventually find a way to solve the Trump Problem. Until they do, however, the Republican Party threatens to become as much of a laughingstock as what David Letterman used to call “that thing on Donald Trump’s head.”

Suddenly, according to recent polls, the iconically coiffed mogul has to be taken ... how, exactly? Obviously it’s not possible to take Trump seriously, since there’s nothing remotely serious about him or his “campaign,” which is nothing more than a reality-show version of an actual campaign. But if his poll numbers are going to place him in the top tier of Republican candidates, he can’t be ignored.

Let’s call him a farce to be reckoned with."

that the traditional media is being hard pressed to deflect from the open appeal to racists that is at the core of the GOP "base".

with his Tourette-like blirting out loud of what every other member of the Republicon clown car thinks but knows better than to say.

I cannot wait for the debates.

Just watch, they will not challenge anything he as to say because they all actually agree with it themselves.

bashing undocumented immigrants, he'll do well with the R base. That's a hot button issue for them. Read the comments on any news story about the San Francisco woman shot by a man who had been deported five times. They agree with Trump 100% and that issue alone will get angry people to the polls. Have to wonder where they all were when the white kid committed nine murders in the church. Crickets.

Maybe this interview is the beginning of an excuse to withdraw his candidacy?
But unfortunately, the Trump brand is already sleazy.

All in all, Trump said, his presidential run so far has been "bad for my brand."

"For the people who say I'm doing it for my brand - this isn't good for my brand. I think it's bad for my brand," he said. "You know, maybe I'm leading in polls, but this is certainly not good. I lose customers, I lose people.

"I had one of the top shows on television, 'The Apprentice,' and I decided not to do it because I wanted to do this. I give up hundreds of millions of dollars of deals where I'm doing this. Then you hear about NASCAR, and you hear about NBC, and you hear about, you know, different people that drop Trump because Trump wants safety in the United States. If you think of it, what am I doing? I say let's make our country safe, and people are offended. It's incredible to me."

Bringing them all down to the level of:
'D__n your conscience! there's media and money ahead!'

We thought it was going to Ted Cruz.
