1. I'm not thrilled by any political cartoon that casts a woman as a dog.

Plus, of course, 'The Big Dog' has long been one of Bill Clinton's nicknames, iirc.

2. The SEC is SUPPOSED to be the "Watchdog" of Wall Street...

... but it has become the lapdog of Blankfein, et al. If I'm not mistaken, White has referred to herself more than once as "The Big Dog" of the SEC, as a bit of self-deprecating humor referencing her diminutive stature.

7. Dog is the perfect symbol

Dogs are loyal. They fight for their pack. They submit to their alpha (usually male).

I don't know what other animal would work better. And if it were just her, a woman, barking on the end of a chain, I'd think the optics would be even worse. If the glove fits...
