Huckabee’s False Witnessing
Mike Huckabee made a number of twisted claims about President Obamas recent reference to the Crusades and the Inquisition at the National Prayer Breakfast. In an appearance on Fox News on Feb. 9, the former Arkansas governor and 2016 Republican presidential prospect said the presidents statement was nothing short of shocking, and added that Obama was against Christians, against Jews in Israel, and that Muslims are the one group of people that can know they have his undying, unfailing support.
Huckabee was attacking Obamas remarks at the annual event on Feb. 5, when the president denounced the terrorist group known as the Islamic State, or ISIS or ISIL, for committing unspeakable acts of barbarism in the name of Islam, and added that centuries earlier people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ as well.
How on earth he could go back a thousand years in history and pick up something that Christians did in response to Muslim aggression and somehow blame Christians for the burning of a Jordanian pilot, for the cutting off of the heads of children who are Christians, its just absolutely stunning to me, Huckabee said.

(31,849 posts)though I suspect Huckabee is implementing the $I$ter $arah (palin) Revenue Stream Generation Method (trademark thingy),which holds the best and fastest way to establish a solid revenue stream, for someone that wants to live high on the hog (on other peoples' money) is to run for office, any office, and say the most ridiculous tea-partyish, Rah Rah 'Mericka', Let the church say 'Amen', stuff you can think of ... the fish are in the barrel, social security and U/C checks in hand.

(31,849 posts)my studies, including those in my Parochial School days, led me to the conclusion that the crusades was more a trade war, with Europeans (primarily, the Vatican) seeking increased access to, and greater control over, middle eastern trade routes and markets.
