Why I'm Not Worried About Mitt Romney

http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2012/01/why-im-not-worried-about-mitt-romney.html

You know, I think the conventional wisdom is right in this instance: Mitt Romney is the most electable candidate for the Republicans this year. But what that really means is this: out of their current cadre of nutjobs, he will lose to President Obama the least badly. How can I be so sure of that, given the political media's dire predictions of a president in peril come November? How can I be so certain, with "Left" outlets whining constantly that Obama isn't farting enough rainbows for the base?

Because I live in the real world. And in the real world, there are stories that go beyond the political dogfights of the day. In the real world, there is every reason to be optimistic about four more years for President Obama. Don't confuse the optimism with complacency - winning in November is going to take all we can give, but give it we must, and we will - which is in and of itself one of the main reasons for my optimism. But let me lay out the reasons why I'm not worried about Mitt Romney.

1. So how many Republicans will show up to the polls, hating their candidate, just to vote against

Obama? That always concerns me. I THINK the true independents will see a clear difference and vote for Obama.

2. Basically it will be easier for the media to cover-up for Romney and make him seem reasonable

than it would be for them to cover-up for Gingrich.

But like you I am optimistic. Their attempt to cover up for McCain/Palin failed spectacularly.

The more people learn about Romney's business practices and character, the more they don't like what they see.

Additionally I am seeing more evidence that people are starting to "get" that Republcans have been deliberately sabotaging the recovery for political reasons. Last polling I saw had 70+% blaming Republicans for their obstruction.

Lastly I am gonna reiterate what you say about complacency. GOTV is really really important this year.

7. I agree ... the "liberally-biased media" is going to polish this turd so furiously it will catch

fire from the friction ...

Every Repug candidate has had "Dean Scream" level gaffes ... yet the "liberally-biased media" really hasn't shot them down the way Dean was crucified.

had he chosen to run on his record rather than from it.

He could have presented a credible threat had he stood proud of his health care plan in Massachusetts...(or)...chosen to stick to his positions as the governor of Massachusetts as a pro-choice, socially moderate candidate...(But) he has to pander to the most extreme elements of his party in order to win the GOP nod...(which) shows clearly that he has no core beliefs, no set of values he wouldn't trade in..."

In other words, he's a slightly more articulate version of Sarah Palin!

6. The media just need to make it look close,
Wed Feb 1, 2012, 03:24 PM

and that's something that they are very good at.

I know that I will be working hard to get the vote out in the minority community....
because waking up the day after the vote with anyone but Pres. Obama as President-elect
would send the kind of message that America could never take back. Period.

Here's a view of if that happened, and why it could, and why it doesn't have to:

I even came up with a name for it back then -- "Operation Too Close To Call!"

and that is exactly what the media will promote! We don't need or want that....
cause we all know what happens when it is "too close to call".....means WE LOSE!

8. Misleading Polls
Wed Feb 1, 2012, 04:59 PM
Feb 2012

All the national polls do not take into account Gary Johnson.
Obama has a healthy lead currently.

Except 2 polls by PPP - Gary Johnson 9% Dec , 7% Jan

17th Jan poll
Obama 47%, Romney 40%, Gary Johnson 7%

Obama has already been vetted.
Romney hasn't.
I know quite a bit of stuff on Romney that hasn't really been aired publicly.
That Damon fraud thing was but 1.

Romney gonna get covered in dirt.

9. Romney gonna get crucified in debates
Wed Feb 1, 2012, 05:04 PM

Romney can't answer tough questions.
He didn't get any in the GOP debate circus.
Obama will give him more than a few.

He slipped up tho on releasing his tax returns. A childish mistake and shows he can't think.

This was a gud example

The GOP is stratified, out of touch, out of ideas, and will be out of time soon.

But can the Democratic party reverse the trends of greed and priviledge? Both major parties have seemed more interested in lining their own pockets than with a strong moral stance against the excesses of Federal politics. While doing a damned fine job of playing one party against the other.

So while we're standing on the deck debating, is the ship sinking?
