Obama’s Google Hangout Wins Over Republican Questioner
Obama promised to take a look at the resume of Wedels husband, suggesting that someone with his skills shouldnt be having trouble finding work.
I meant what I said, said the president during the hangout. If you send me your husbands resume, Id be interested in finding out exactly whats happening right there, because the word that were getting is that somebody in that kind of high-tech field, that kind of engineer, should be able to find something right away.
Afterwards, Wedel, who described herself as a good Republican, is now planning to vote for Obama in this years presidential election.
I didnt vote for him four years ago. But I have been so disappointed with the presidential race. I havent seen anybody who would have been a good replacement. I know how Obama is now. I know how he rolls. So Id probably vote him back in, said Wedel in an interview with The Atlantic.

Our employment law was created at a time when people were hired and stayed in the job for many years if not their entire working lives.
The fact is that today people change jobs for different reasons very, very frequently. But employers' attitudes and our labor laws assume otherwise. This is an issue that labor leaders should address.
I would offer ideas but first, studies are needed to determine what is really happening and how different solutions have worked in other countries. Also, we need input from the workers themselves.

I remember how frustrating it was to watch the original encounter between Pres Obama and Joe the Plumber.
I still have hope that the rational, intelligent republicans (I know at least three) will stop lying to themselves and start voting for their own self interest, or the good of the country.
