Tammy Duckworth looking at challenging Mark Kirk

Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) is taking a “real serious look” at running against Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), according to a report by CQ Roll Call.

The Illinois Democrat and Iraq War veteran recently won reelection to a third term in the House and also had a baby in November 2014. Now that she’s returning to Capitol Hill for the 114th Congress, she say she’s weighing her options as the next election cycle approaches.

Duckworth said she hopes to make a decision in the “coming weeks,” according to the CQ Roll Call report.

Kirk, whose seat is considered vulnerable, would be an ideal target for Democrats who will need a net gain of five seats to regain majority control of the Senate. Illinoisans tend to vote for Democratic candidates for the White House, and this, as well as larger voter turnout during presidential elections, gives her an advantage in a 2016 race.

Especially when he took it upon himself to go to China and asked them not to trust America for their loan to this country. He was trying to undermine Obama as well as our country.
