CNN Poll: Gender gap and likeability keep Obama over Romney
Source: CNN
A CNN/ORC International poll released Monday also indicates a large gender gap that benefits Obama, but the public is divided on which candidate can best jump-start the economy.
According to the poll, 52% of registered voters say if the presidential election were held today, they would vote for the president, with 43% saying they would cast a ballot for Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who is making his second bid for the White House. The poll was conducted Friday through Sunday, a few days after former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania suspended his bid for the GOP nomination. Even though former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas continue their long-shot bids for the nomination, Romney is now generally considered the presumptive nominee.
The survey indicates women voters back Obama over Romney by 16 points (55%-39%), virtually unchanged from an 18-point advantage among women for the president in CNN polling last month.

I'm sure Fox News will give this the same attention that they gave their outlier poll that had Romney up by 2.

gallop reports romney up by 2 in there latest tracking polll, which makes me want to believe it is truely not a representative sample
Actually anyone with a sense of honor, morality and conscious should vote democrat. Gallop must get its reporting from Rasmussen.

(72 posts)It's looks like that phony outrage over Ann Romney last week didn't help Mitt Romney with his gender gap problem afterall!

(25,111 posts)which is hard to believe, wherein they stated that Mittens has an advantage of independents voters which is hard to believe that one too. So I know its very early with these polls, but I remember the presidential polls in 2008 having that race to close to call, and even having McCain/Palin ahead.
Nice to know that women know the difference of total BS, ie Rosengate.

(15,189 posts)With the gender gap how can they be right? Independents are women too.

(4,667 posts)I have really soured on daily tracking polls. They are just too inconsistent and you get too many wild swings for no reason.

(4,490 posts)At least that's how it seems with many of my co-workers. A lot kind of tuned out all political news during the Republican race, and really have no clue what's going on other than the occasional major story. Once both start campaigning more heavily, and the debates start, I have a hard time seeing Romney stay that close.
