Gov. Christie will pay his own way to Cowboys-Packers playoff game

By MELISSA HAYES State House Bureau | The Record

Governor Christie is travelling to Green Bay on Sunday to see the Dallas Cowboys take on the Packers — but he’s paying his own way.

Christie’s office said the governor, who faced criticism and an ethics complaint this week after accepting tickets from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, will pay for his own travel and tickets. The move is a reversal from Christie’s earlier stance that there was nothing wrong with him accepting tickets to sit alongside Jones at three recent games, including a private jet flight to last weekend’s playoff game in Dallas for the entire Christie family.

Christie will watch the games from Jones’ luxury box. The governor’s office did not respond to questions about whether Christie would reimburse Jones for previous games he attended.

Jones has called Christie and the orange sweater the governor wore to the last five games the team won the Cowboys’ “mojo” and has said he wants him at the playoff game.

I think he realizes he's in DEEP trouble!

Curiously, the governor appoints both members of the Ethics Commission, but one of the two that Christie appointed doesn't even meet the requirements. As usual, he skirts the rules and laws.

bringing the family again, the ones that also got all the freebies last time or is that going to cost way too much this time?

The gall of the man is exceeded only by his girth.

He is only compounding the error, this will not go well for him, but he does relish the publicity...no pun intended.

and act accordingly in every instance, never questioning themselves, never needing to be questioned by others.

Let Christie do and pay as he will on the morrow. Today he stands indicted by his own hand, charged and found wanting by his own fortune, and cast aside from further considerations of effort or leadership.

What a farkin' douchebag. It's like he enjoys rubbing his constituents noses into the shit of being out of the playoffs. Gawd I hope he runs for president, he is gonna flame out sooo magnificently, it will be a beautiful spectacle.

Ergo, he wants to rub elbows and bellies with Texans.

I don't know how he will act now that Mittens is backing in brains first into the race. Watch for CC to try to make a splash.

Actually, there won't be a flame out. More like a gas grill as it runs out of fuel. Uncooked, raw, bloody. Definitely unappetizing.

....both Jones' and Christie's people have admitted that they only became "friends" in mid-2013 (less than two years), which coincidentally was a month or two after Jones' company got a lucrative contract from the Port Authority. Christie pushed for that contract for him.
