NYPD: 2 officers shot in the Bronx

Source: Yahoo

Two police officers were shot in the Bronx Monday night, the New York Police Department confirmed Monday night.

Details of the shooting and the condition of the two cops were not immediately known, the department said.

The incident occurred in the Fordham section of the Bronx at 184th and Teibout Avenue and police are still searching for a suspect.

Local New York City television news outlets reported the officers were rushed to St. Barnabas Medical Center and that their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

It does make me sad that nobody seems to be speaking up and this condemning criminal act against two police officers.

What are you talking about? The successful prosecution of the shooter is so predictable that the authorities don't need to be pressured to put him away.

Police will be taken off other crimes until the shooters are arrested. And the case to successfully prosecute the men will go forth will all resources required to get a conviction. Just like all the other times some thing like this has happened.

But yes, people should not shot police, except in self-defense.

What are you talking about? OK, if it makes you feel better, I hereby condemn robbers and criminals and ask that they not shoot police. In your America, we have to publicly condemn criminals so you feel better?

People who will take every opportunity to use violence against police to take pot shots at those who are tired of police getting away with murder. The truth is the vast majority of people who are unhappy with police are not happy about police being murdered or attacked either. It's a stark contrast to the near unanimous support police organizations seem to have given for the recorded violent murder of an unarmed man. Nevermind that this is completely unrelated. There has been plenty of condemnation for this violent act, probably more so than is warranted for an armed robber taking a couple shots at the officers who were trying to catch him. The condemnation really goes without saying for most.

Only the OP, me and one other person responded. People here don't give a shit about shot police officers. Right in this thread some people are finding it only worthy of posting on in order to shit on the NYPD. Even the two officers killed in their car got scant attention... the only thing people here cared about was the rift between the mayor and the NYPD rank and file, and they still flog the NYPD about it endlessly. The vast amount of cop haters here love to let any thread about cops being shot whether they live or die drop like a rock because they don't even want to acknowledge it even happens.

People here condemning criminal acts against police? Not gonna happen. This place has become AllCopsAreEvilUnderground.

Most sources will simply be reprints of an AP story, regardless.

I generally avoid the comments at most MSM outlets anyway; CNN, NBC, ABC, etc. All are cesspools. Yahoo even dumped comments a few years back but felt compelled to bring them back for some reason.

I'm sure more than a few are legitimately horrible people, but I always work under the assumption that anyone posting ridiculously disgusting comments in comment sections are just trying to goad people into taking their bait. I just ignore them and move along, because there is just too great of a chance they don't even believe what they are saying and they are just playing a game to hook ya. So why have an argument with someone who doesn't even believe what they're saying? And even if they do, it's not like you're going to change the mind of some ignorant POS with a few rebuttal comments. That's why I find it best to pretend those comment sections don't even exist.

I'm glad the shooting was connected to a mundane robbery, rather than anything to do with anti-police protests or retaliation for grievances. The shootings are terrible enough by themselves without worsening the political situation in NYC or nationwide.

I hope and pray that the officers make a full and speedy recovery, the perpetrators are quickly apprehended, and that they have no social media postings about Ferguson, Garner or similar matters.

Thanks, iDemo, what a wild west show that was. Hope they catch the shooters and it looks like the officers will be okay.

One in the vest, the other 'in the elbow.' Both must have hurt, and the second one may cause some disability and it will hurt like hell.

And De Blasio went to see them in the hospital, too.

license plate readers. Police calls are generated from whatever other public surveillance systems NY uses. Also by quotas, some police have to 'stop' a number of people each day to meet their quota.

Police are very fast responding to robberies these days and like in this case, robbers tend to be armed and shoot.

There will be many more of these 'first contacts' that end in violence for police & citizens due to the technology used, speed of response and quotas.

The man who police murdered during an asthma attack had 30 prior citations.

No wonder the man was upset, he probably had thousands of dollars in court fines and had a court bill to pay every month. Another ticket just means more 'fines' and a tick on 6? officers quota requirement.
