Tests for Obama after complaints of sore throat

Source: AP-Excite

By DARLENE SUPERVILLE

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) — President Barack Obama had some medical tests Saturday at a military hospital just outside Washington because of a persistent sore throat.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Obama's physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, suggested that some diagnostic tests be done Saturday afternoon since the president had free time in his schedule. He said Obama has been complaining of a sore throat.

The situation was not urgent, Earnest said, and Obama's motorcade made the half-hour crawl in rainy weather to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington.

FULL short story at link.

Axelrod has said you still sneak one now and again. (Whether that knowledge extends past his time in regular contact with Obama, I don't know.)

including public spaces.
I'm presuming he's had a flu shot.
Lozenges help.
Also a little bourbon, lemon juice, hot water, & sweetener.

That said, they say the flu shot this year was a "miss"--it doesn't protect most people from the flu.

Likely cataract surgery in spring.
Or - just careless and in haste. I'll correct.

Yeah, I understood this year's version only protects against ca 60% of flu viruses.
But, we depend on that guy - Mr. President- so much, I'd hate to see him laid low.

My eyes aren't always my best friend either...I suffer from "CRS" (can't read shit) especially with the very small print.

I hope POTUS stays healthy too--we need him at full power in these difficult days...

I always thought it weird that you have to wait until practically blind before they do the surgery. I know why due to recurrence but after all these years and millions of them, I can't believe they haven't perfected the procedure.

Dr. told me ca a year ago that I could choose the timing.
I would have had the surgery this past fall but son announced he was getting married in Nov., so I needed to focus on that all fall.

Now I want to go to FL in Jan., so won't have the pre-op eye exam until I get back, followed by a pre-op physical (required), then, finally, the surgery.

I appreciate your good wishes. Everyone says it's an easy surgery, but the idea of inserting drops every four hrs weighs on me.

chicken soup with fresh lemon juice
l-lysine
hylands "sore throat" remedy (nicotine cancels the effectiveness of this remedy)
nasal saline (i prefer the air pump spray)
rest
honey and hot tea - especially before speaking engagements
a hot toddie before bed
frequent washing of hands & keep your hands off your face

works for me

He's got the best doctors money can buy attending. He'd probably survive a hangnail too.

As for the rest of us, we'll take healthcare scraps until we get single payer!!!!

That's what I would do, if I were President, and since Congress only meets for 8 days in December, he should just get out of town.
