"Christopher Dodd, the former Connecticut senator who now leads the MPAA, hasn't given up on his dream of censoring the Internet. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, he said that Hollywood and the technology industry 'need to come to an understanding' about new copyright legislation. Dodd said that there were 'conversations going on now,' about SOPA-style legislation, but that he was 'not going to go into more detail because obviously if I do, it becomes counterproductive.' Asked whether the White House's decision to oppose SOPA had created tensions with Hollywood, Dodd insisted that he was 'not going to revisit the events of last winter,' but said he hoped the president would use his 'good relationships' with both Hollywood and the technology industry to broker a deal."

You posted at 3:26 pm that the website claimed a 4 percent chance. As I write this post, it says 2 percent. I scanned the website briefly and didn't see how they make their determinations or why they change so quickly. Perhaps I missed it.

The article I posted about this earlier suggests that CISPA's chances of passage are actually very good, given that the bill:

1. sailed through the House Intelligence Committee on a 17 to 1 bipartisan vote

2. has broad support in the House, with 106 co-sponsors, 10 of whom are committee chairmen.

3. unlike SOPA, has "explicit support from some of the technology industry’s biggest players, including Internet service providers like AT&T and Verizon, Web companies like Facebook, and hardware companies like IBM and Intel."

Here we go again.

Remember: Obama signed ACTA and then attempted to hide it from the US press by calling it a national security issue.

Again, these assaults are bipartisan. If we have learned one thing, it is that we need to watch our Congress and White House like hawks for backroom deals that benefit the one percent.
