Indian Prime Minister Meets Influential Jewish Group in New York

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met an influential Jewish group in New York, as was previously reported on the planned meeting. The Prime Minister conveyed that India was proud of the communitys acknowledgment that it has been an integral part of Indian society for 2,000 years and never suffered any discrimination, India Today reports.
The group hoped that under Modis leadership, Indias ties with the US and Israel will expand further.
The Prime Minister told the group that India is proud that it is acknowledged by all Jewish people that they were integral part of the Indian society for 2,000 years and never suffered discrimination, official sources said.
Modi is scheduled to meet his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu during his stay in the US.

Jews have been living in India since before the US or Europe and the oldest synagogue in Asia with perhaps the oldest surviving book of Torah are in India.
The head of the military in the 1971 "liberation of Bangladesh" war was Jewish which resulted in the first dismemberment of Pakistan.

Muslims came to India initially as Arab traders and they were primarily in Gujarat and Kerala. Their goodwill and peacefulness was quickly lost as dozens of brutal invaders came - including Mehmoud Gaznavi, Shaheen, Q'utubuddin Aibak, Shershah, Nadirshah, Malik Q'affar and of course Babur.

It is amazing the convoluted thinking here that makes a rightwing bigot seem somehow like a fuzzy friend of progressives!
