Not clear from the news reports.

(205,927 posts)I imagine that they put out some kind of statement. I did think it was odd, though, that no one but "People" thought it was important to specify the date. Since it's the Clintons, I imagine that this is big enough news that we'll be hearing more details before very long. In fact, we'll probably be hearing the latest updates from every news outlet possible...

(25,183 posts)Three of them were in Congress, and the fourth one was President. I doubt you'd find many people in the US who could say that about their grandparents.

(30,251 posts)There's also the chance that one of the grandparents could become our next president. That would be a first.

(1,856 posts)No really! Why should I be excited that there is another "Clintonite" joining the human race? Good for her she had a healthy baby, but this should NOT be newsworthy, in any way shape or form.

(5,167 posts)with braces to an intelligent, competent, beautiful young woman.
We saw her with her parents at her father's inauguration, and we saw her holding both her parents' hands, walking between them when their marriage was going through an especially difficult time, as though she was holding the marriage together.
Her parents did a wonderful job of raising her, in the spotlight of publicity and press, and she remained unspoiled throughout.
Bottom line, Arthur, we hold Chelsea in high regard and wish her, her baby and family, all the best.
It's your prerogative to not care, but the news of her baby is of interest and newsworthy to many.

(365 posts)You do know that you're not required to click on every single thread on DU, right? If something doesn't interest you, move along and find something that does. It's not very realistic to expect every single topic discussed on a site as large as DU to be one that you personally will find interesting.
