Jury selection in Michael Dunn trial scheduled to begin Monday morning

Source: The Florida Times-Union

The second Michael David Dunn murder trial will begin with jury selection Monday morning.

Dunn, 47, is accused of the first-degree murder of 17-year-old Jordan Davis. In February a jury deadlocked on whether he was guilty of murder while convicting him of three counts of attempted murder one count of shooting or throwing a deadly missile.

He faces a minimum of 60 years in prison, and could get life if he’s convicted of Davis’ murder.

Jury selection is expected to take several days, it took three days to select a jury for the first trial.

Usually they're able to drag retrials out for years. I don't have any more faith in the new jury than I did in the first one, unfortunately.

I hope the prosecutor has included a lesser charge of felony murder since he's been convicted of the felony of firing at the car.

While he is in jail, where he belongs for the rest of his life, this 'not calling things by their right names' (as TheMagistrate says) cheapens the life of every citizen, even those too blind to see it!
