Sen. Ernie Chambers blasts lieutenant governor ballot switch (NE)

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Martha Stoddard

LINCOLN — State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha added his voice to those arguing that last week’s lieutenant governor ballot switch was illegal.

Chambers delivered a letter to Secretary of State John Gale on Monday, arguing that Gale’s decision to allow the switch amounted to “an abuse of your office and violation of the public trust.”

The veteran state senator, who holds a law degree from Creighton University, called on Gale to reverse his decision.

Today, an attorney for Mark Elworth Jr., the Libertarian candidate for governor, will ask the Lancaster County District Court to order the decision reversed.

“I boldly and confidently (without a molecule of ‘humbleness’) announce my intention to seek (and procure) the chairmanship of the following committees — yes, all of them,” State Sen. Ernie Chambers wrote.

...if you think Chris Taylor should be allowed to drop off the ballot for KS-Gov, you should be okay with Heidemann dropping off in Nebraska.
