Missouri Gov Orders Withdrawal Of National Guard From Ferguson

Source: TPM

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon (D) ordered the National Guard on Thursday to begin "systematically withdrawing" from Ferguson, Mo., after the reserve force was called in earlier this week to protect local law enforcement officials.

“As we continue to see improvement, I have ordered the Missouri National Guard to begin a systematic process of withdrawing from the City of Ferguson," Nixon said in a statement.

The National Guard had been assigned on Monday to cover the local law enforcement's command center after it was targeted for a "coordinated, planned attack," Nixon's office said.

"The situation has greatly improved with fewer incidents of outside instigators interfering with peaceful protestors, and fewer acts of violence," Nixon's office said Thursday.

He is completely overwhelmed by the situation. He clearly has no idea how to handle the situation or is too afraid to make executive decisions. First thing should have been to pull the fpd out, make sure captain johnson is really in charge and not sabotaged by the fpd ( like the release of that video ), name a special prosecutor, make it crystal clear that harassing the press is unnaceptable and order the police to simply position themselves in front of the businesses instead of harassing the people protesting peacefully.

They are becoming responsible for reconciling a situation which they created.
