Reid: 'We are going to lose in South Dakota'

Source: Argus Leader

RENO, Nev. – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Monday he expects Democrats to maintain control of Senate in the fall elections but acknowledged things could change between now and then.

"If the election were held today, we'd be in the majority without any question, but the election is not today," Reid of Nevada told reporters at his office in Reno.

The Senate is composed of 53 Democrats, 45 Republicans and two independents who vote with the Democratic caucus.

Reid said he's most concerned about the open seat in South Dakota, where longtime Democrat Tim Johnson is stepping down.

Here in the Black Hills your more welcome as a leper than a democrat.

Fox News plays almost everywhere in Rapid City.

The Rez used to be very pro Dem but I've not been there for years so don't know about now.

Since I'm not in a competitive State, my activity is limited to financial support, and since I don't have infinite resources, I have to triage races. Too many other State we ALSO have to win have greater prospects for success.

Polls are polls....We have to get closer to November before you can get a clear picture of the upcoming elections. I'm thinking Dems holding 52 seats. Just spitballin', and I am more concerned about KY and TEXAS.... we need the progressives to come out in those two States!

Georgia, however, might be a pickup for us. Michelle Nunn has some considerable support there.

It's beyond comprehension that Democrats don't have a super majority in both houses after the crap we've had to endure from the latest bunch of Republi idiots! California did it. The remainder of the country needs to get on board so our government can get things done! Can't do it with obstructionists in power.

People give you power and if you won't use it they take it away. That seems fairly simple to me..

Don't like the news? Blame the messenger.

It's been weird these past few days with people saying the equivalent of "Well, what do you expect with INSERT NEWS SOURCE" for everything from CNN to AP to NPR. Faux News I can understand, but this total rejection of anything that disagrees with a Pollyanna outlook for the upcoming election or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, anything that questions the popular notion of a sociopathic white cop shooting a angelic black man in the back for no reason is simply bizarre.
