Iran Says It Gave Missile Technology to Hamas

Source: AP via ABC News

Hamas is able to fire missiles into Israel because Tehran provided weapons technology to the militant group to defend itself against Israeli attacks, a senior Iranian official said Monday.

Officials from Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards have said in the past that Fajr-5 missiles are part of Hamas' Gaza Strip arsenal, whose technology has been supplied by Iran and produced locally without needing direct shipment.

"Palestinian resistance missiles are the blessings of Iran's transfer of technology," the Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council, Mohsen Rezaei, was quoted as saying by Al-Alam, the Arabic channel of Iran's state TV. "We need to transfer defensive and military technology to Palestinians so that they can build weapons under the blockade and defend themselves," he added.

They are supplying Hamas as part of their campaign against Jews, and Israel as a whole.

Most Palestinians are descendants of the Biblical Philistines and Samaritans and the Jews not scattered in the Diaspora--a significant percentage of the population stayed behind after the suppression of the Bar Kochba revolt; they didn't all leave, most eventually converted to Christianity and then Islam. (There have been genetic studies; the most closely related population to Jews? Palestinian Arabs.) See here, for instance. And also here (which notes that the so-called "Cohen modal haplotype" is also found in Palestinians).

We are an immigrant country. This was not the home of our ancestors. Human beings migrate all the time. Right now, people from all over the third world are migrating to America and Western Europe. That is perfectly normal.

Iran has no excuse for refusing Palestinian immigration. We have Palestinian immigrants in the US and they are quite welcome here.

Or did they come of their own free will? There's a pretty significant difference, there.

without a license. My family was Protestant. On one side of my family, the girls got Spanish names to commemorate their Spanish origins.

On another side of my family, my great-great-grandfather left Germany after the German revolution of 1848. He was obviously persona non grata where he came from.

Like most Americans, my ancestors left all they knew because they had to. My ancestors entered a wilderness and transformed it into a good place to live. That is the story of most American families regardless of where they came from.

I'm older, so I knew my great-grandfather who came as a baby in 1848. At the age of twelve, he accompanied his father to fight against slavery in the Civil War. Was shot in the leg for the Union.

Peace is better than war. The children of Palestine and Israel deserve better than war.

The story of Abraham is basic to the Christian, Jewish and Muslim religions. In it God tells Abraham to sacrifice animals, not humans.

In the situation in Palestine and Israel that means that the fathers on both sides need to make peace. They owe it to Abraham.

And those words you use right there, the "right of return" is what the Arab League uses to justify the imprisonment.

Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system shot down over 85% of incoming rockets and most of the rest landed harmlessly in the desert.

As long as Israel practices apartheid and murder against the Palestinians, they will not know peace nor the good will of millions around the world.

I'm personally in favor of us invading Kuwait. No one would expect that, would they? But if no one lines up behind that idea, I think we should support any Iranians or ISIS members who publicly accept Jesus, and we should arm them. Or maybe we could wait and see who McCain shakes hands with on his next junket to the area and arm those people. I don't see what could go wrong. Whatever the case, we can't sit by and do nothing.

If that's any indication of how advanced their missile technology is, well...Israel's propaganda of facing an existential threat from Iran falls on its face.

Though at the same time, if Iran truly did give a known terrorist group missile technology, well...I think Western scrutiny over its own nuclear program will get more intense.

Either way, lose, lose.
