Wheatfields Targeted In Class Action Lawsuit (wrongful termination, unpaid overtime, and more)

Source: KETV

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha bakery and restaurant Wheatfields is the target of a class action lawsuit that alleges wrongful termination, unpaid overtime, and falsified records by a former employee.

Wheatfields and its ownership firmly deny the allegations.

The KETV NewsWatch 7 I-Team learned that the man who initiated the lawsuit first sought advice from a New York City law firm that has a track record of suing restaurants in New York.

According to court documents, 37 people have joined the lawsuit against Wheatfields which was filed in August 2011.

restaurants are notorious for filching everything they can from their wait staff. They get away with it because usually they're too small to bother with suing. Another big scam corporations in general use is to put employees on the payroll as "salaried" and force them to work overtime for free. Another big scam Congress uses is to make up feel good nonsense names for bills that screw the American worker, such as the "Jobs" bill. Is everybody a liar, cheat and snake oil scam artist in this country? I wish I lived where at least the corruption was straight forward.

(Can someone tell me how I can insert my own images? I want to put up the UNION image which for some reason DU does not have.)

I've had the honor of being a lifelong UAW member, so I don't understand issues in right to work states.

How is it, in right to work states, that they can claim a wrongful termination when the company doesn't need a reason to fire you?

Aren't they at will employees?

With Indiana passing a RTW law and MI in the crosshairs, I need to get a better understanding of the issues.

Thanks in advance and good luck in your upcoming election.
