Court dismisses Kerrey (D-NE) residency challenge

Bob Kerrey's court woes are over.

The Nebraska Supreme Court refused to hear a challenge Monday filed by the state GOP that questioned whether Kerrey's name should be allowed on the May 15 primary ballot.

The High Court cited a law that limits their ability to intervene on a ballot decision 55 days before an election. The primary is 50 days away.

Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale had ruled earlier this month that Kerrey's name should appear on the ballot, saying the Constitution trumps concerns about voter registration.
