Churches amplify call for justice for Trayvon

Source: Excite-AP

EATONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - African-American community churches around the nation are amplifying the cries for justice in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Martin was shot while wearing a hooded sweatshirt as he walked home on a rainy night in a gated community. The neighborhood watch volunteer who shot him, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, is the son of a white father and Hispanic mother, and the demands to charge him in Martin's slaying have increased.

Congregants bow their heads in prayer during a service at Middle Collegiate Church in New York, Sunday, March 25, 2012. Church-goers were invited to wear hoodies to services to show their support for justice in the case of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager who was wearing a hoodie on the night he was killed by a neighborhood watch captain in Florida. 4. What exactly should Zimmerman be charged with?

Here is what is known: Zimmerman calls 911 about a suspicious person
Neighbor sees Trayvon assaulting Zimmerman who is yelling for help, neighbor goes to call 911 during which time Trayvon gets shot.
Unless the investigation reveals some more information I don't see what Zimmerman can be charged with.

7. I presume that the grand jury will have access to a lot of information that hasn't been published

Things like crime scene photos, physical evidence collected at the scene, medical reports, and the entirety of witness accounts.

The totality of it may point to an indictment, or it may exonerate Zimmerman. We really don't know, and we're not going to know anything more until after the grand jury starts considering the case.

It's going to be a long time before there is any possibility of an indictment, which is the only event that could legally trigger an arrest at this point.

6. We all want justice, but

the public outcry may not allow justice to happen. In other words the mob demands blood without much knowledge of the facts, witness statement(s) or other real evidence.

As you can tell I am disappointed by many of the posts here.
