Mitch McConnell hit over own photo confusion

Source: politico

The stock photo war of 2014 escalated in Kentucky on Thursday night, as Alison Lundergan Grimes’ campaign attacked Sen. Mitch McConnell’s team for using European stock photos in three Facebook posts.

Republicans seized on an afternoon POLITICO report that the Democratic Kentucky Senate candidate released a newspaper ad featuring a picture of a Ukrainian male model pretending to be a coal miner. Grimes’ campaign says it was a mistake by its design firm that was caught before the ad appeared in newspapers.

It turns out that an image accompanying a McConnell Facebook post about President Barack Obama’s “war on coal” in January was of a power plant in Athens, Greece, licensed from the web site Shutterstock.

An April Facebook post touting the National Rife Association’s endorsement of the Senate minority leader was accompanied by a picture from a Danish photographer of what is likely a Danish hunter.

1. Mitch McConnell celebrates Duke 2010 title win in new ad.

McConnell’s staff showed clips of Louisville winning the national title last season, and instead of Kentucky winning it the previous season, they used the footage of Duke’s title win in 2010 (check the 1:09 mark):

Oh, and in case you missed the warning on the page, it's "NSFW" so don't click on the video at the link if you are at work.

I know it's a typo, but how very appropriate for describing the GOP and McConnell.

He strikes me as a confused, addled brain ass. What exactly has he ever done in all his years "representing" Kentucky for the people of the state? HE has managed to become a millionaire many times over. He got his beard - oops - "wife" a cushy government job. How about his illustrious military career? Gues he only lasted a few weeks, after "an incident in the showers" led to his discharge. Eeeew! That sounds icky.

I'd never heard anything about this or his military career.

Of course you have not heard of it, he covered it up. If I remember correctly, he was only in the army 6 days when the "incident in the showers" happened. Google him, it should be listed, although not the truth of course. His wife was given a cushy government job in the W administration, I believe. Elaine Cho.(?) They have 2 boys, but cannot imagine HIM doing anything THAT icky! One of his young male aides quit his job and took a job a few blocks away from Mitch's office in DC. Poor Mitch cried REAL tears saying goodbye to this man on the floor of the Senate. No tears for the thousands killed in worthless wars, but a civilian leaves a cushy job, and Mitch is heartbroken.

The above link will tell you the essentials (one of the sources links back to DU back-in-the-day).

He's managed to push back down the years; I don't think this business will play much of a role absent some new smoking gun coming to the fore.

LOOKS like a turtle, so there's that!

I was watching that John Oliver commercial with a crew that included a lot of elderly people--mostly ladies. The comment that won the moment was "What the hell is that? It looks like an OLIVE....????"

Brought the house down!
