Ukraine able to pay back $9 billion in currency debt through IMF, EU, World Bank aid in 2014

Source: Kyiv Post

Finance Ministry: Ukraine able to pay back $9 billion in currency debt through IMF, EU, World Bank aid in 2014.

Loans from international financial organizations, U.S. loan guarantees and placing debt on the foreign and domestic market will allow Ukraine to pay back $9 billion in foreign currency liabilities, First Deputy Finance Minister Anatoliy Miarkovsky said at a round table on April 24. To repay the debt, the government is planning to use $3 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, $2.7 billion in EU financing and a loan from the World Bank for $1 billion, he said, adding that the country would also place Eurobonds for $1 billion and local currency bonds for $300 million.

Now try and tell this isn't a huge scam.

That's close to the amount that Yanukovych told the EU that Ukraine needed to get through 2014 at which point the EU offered $1 billion. The talks collapsed immediately and the Euromaidan protests ensued.

Now the funds are forthcoming.

That is not a defense of allegations regarding corruption by Yanukovych which are a different matter.

Russia wants all IMF money that Ukraine will receive.

The International Monetary Fund staff approved a $17 billion loan to Ukraine on April 22.

been so the Ukraine could more easily pay off debt to Putin? If that's true, we should know very quickly. I have been following the Ukraine story closely but if this is a scam, I will stop following it altogether. It is appearing more and more to me that virtually everything is a con. A bunch of nuns and priests who no longer believe in God want me to join them and all I have to do is give them some money.

Ready to close shop.

The scam was the mechanism to move Ukraine into the EU's influence regardless of the fact it will screw the population of Ukraine blind.

Since you mentioned debt to Russia have a plough through this : http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ukraine-crisis/3-billion-ukraine-aid-would-go-russia-n52056

Elsewhere in todays news there is a report that the aggregate owed to Russia is £16 billion part of which is a substantial amount owed to Gazprom but exclusive of the $3 billion above.

It's absurd, of course, when the EU didn't pay up the first go around the circumstances were much different. They have changed dramatically, and mostly because of Russia's actions.

In fact, had Russia not done these things, the situation would likely look different.

HENRY FORD THE INTERNATIONAL JEW ————– Download the entire Book in PDF form

The single description which will include a larger percentage of Jews than members of any other race is this: HE IS IN BUSINESS.
It may be only gathering rags and selling them, but he is in business. From the sale of old clothes to the control of international trade and finance, the Jew is supremely gifted for business. More than any other race he exhibits a decided aversion to industrial employment, which he balances by an equally decided adaptability to trade. The Gentile boy works his way up, taking employment in the productive or technical departments; but the Jewish boy prefers to begin as messenger, salesman or clerk — anything — so long as it is connected with the COMMERCIAL SIDE OF THE BUSINESS

(Reuters) - Ukraine is ready to pay Russia's Gazprom $268 per 1,000 cubic metres of gas and would quickly pay off its $2.2. billion debt if the state-controlled company agreed, Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk said on Monday.

"If within 30 days no agreement is reached ... we will turn to the court to resolve the dispute with Russian monopoly Gazprom," he said. (reporting by Natalia Zinets, writing by Elizabeth Piper, editing by Matt Robinson)

was only made earlier this year and was wholly conditional on the outstanding debt being cleared by early April - it wasn't
cleared.

Gazprom lowers gas price for Ukraine 33% to $268.5 per 1,000 cubic metres – Putin. http://voiceofrussia.com/2013_12_17/Gazprom-to-sell-gas-to-Ukraine-at-268-5-per-1-000-cubic-metres-Putin-5558/ The $15 million in bond purchases fell by the wayside apart from the first $3 billion.

I don't see an arbitration court could order a price below market value which is generally c. $400 /1000 cubic meters.

Ukraine's transit fees are a completely separate issue which may become complicated anyway due to the reverse feeds from Poland and Slovakia.

Russia says gas debt talks with EU, Ukraine planned for May 2.

"The meeting is planned for May 2 in Warsaw," the Russian Energy Ministry said, adding that it expected the Ukrainian delegation to confirm its participation soon. Russia had earlier proposed the talks be held on Monday in Moscow.

Dmitry Galko is a journalist for the Belarussian publication “Novy Chas”. He has been in Ukraine for a month-and-half. He told Ukrainska Pravda about his trip to Sloviansk [Slavyansk], the only blue-and-yellow flag, his illegal detention and Ukrainian troops who are guarding a checkpoint under the Russian three-coloured flag.

Sloviansk is the centre of the Bermuda Triangle which is now in Donbas. We got there from Donetsk at about 8 o’clock in the morning. The town looked eerie and ghostly at that time: no one was out, the streets were completely empty, the only people around were on the checkpoints.

What people?

That depends. They were all different, it is not clear if they were local or not. They were dressed and armed in various ways. Clubs, slingshots, knives. And there were also real military units and groups.
